Does Provatto issue a judgement on a piece?
No. Provatto is a digital record platform, and a technical inspection report is an independent opinion attributed to the expert who performed it, with its scope and its date. It is not a guarantee and not a certificate of authenticity.
How does record matching by inspection work?
A technician from an independent inspection house requests temporary access to your record, examines the watch in front of them, and matches what is recorded against what they see. After a match the manufacturing identity is fixed and can no longer be edited by anyone.
Is the app free to download?
Yes. Downloading the Provatto app from the App Store is free.
What happens to the record when a watch is sold?
The whole digital record moves to the next owner: the details, the documents and the journey. It is a transfer of the record inside the platform, and not a legal transfer of title.
Who can see my record?
You. You may show it to whomever you choose, or grant an independent inspection house temporary access for 24 hours to carry out a match by inspection.
